White Hand of the Ghoul

The Miri use the symbol of the white hand is a mark and warning of disease, but it also implies disgrace as the Miri value health and strength as particular blessings of Mir. However, during the Abaresk Plague outbreak (489-530) the Cult of the White Hand of the Ghoul emerged, in a desperate attempt to avoid dieing from the plague, people would embrace sickness and decay and eventually become ghouls, but avoid death
.
The cult was deeply ritualistic and anti-theistic, wallowing in desecrating the pure and sacred, especially as it referred to Mir. Because the Miri consider themselves to have the blood of Mir, their bodies are sacred, and exposing them to this kind of filthiness was only outdone by the cannibalism of the White Hand of the Ghoul. The cult was lead by a man known as the Albino Prince, who laid claim to the throne of Lebsmouth.

The time of the Abaresk Plague was desperate for many people, and the cult of the White Hand of the Ghoul died out during the Decade of Winter, but now it appeared to have reemerged.
